KARL ABRAMOVIC

Karl Abramovic splits his time between Portland, Oregon and Tucson, Arizona. His surreal oil paintings and murals express dream-like narratives of his thoughts and observations of humankind and the society surrounding him. Karl’s work has been featured in galleries, projects, publications and exhibits in Portland, Tucson, Los Angeles, New York, London and Toyama, Japan.

 

Before becoming a full-time fine artist, Karl worked as a muralist, scenic artist and illustrator with organizations and companies like Warner Bros, FAO Schwarz, The City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and Penguin Group Publishing (New York).

 

Karl is the recipient of a United States House of Representatives Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition (for his work with the Los Angeles Metro Poster Series Project), a City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Certificate of Commendation (for his mural work in that city), and a Recognition Award from the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, Oregon (for his public art contribution to that community).
